Fleur De Sel from Guerande
Fleur de Sel, which translates as Flower of Salt, is a unique finishing sea salt, hand gathered in the Guerande peninsula in South Brittany, France. Fleur De Sel is natural, unprocessed finishing salt, renowned for centuries, used by kings and now by the best chefs and food connoisseurs.
Its crystals are scraped carefully from the salt pans surface by paludiers. After collection, the salt is left to dry naturally for about 2 years.
As it retains some natural moisture, Fleur de Sel flakes melt easily on your food and bring out flavours of your dish. Due to its delicate nature, Fleur de Sel is not suitable for cooking.
To appreciate this salt, you should sprinkle it over salads, fish, meats of fruits right before serving. It is also magnificent addition to chocolate or desserts.
